If you’re like me, and enjoy listening to the music videos on Youtube, you may get tired of having to manually click the replay button every time the song ends.
It is possible to reiterate each video on it’s own, all you have to do is enter in a URI with specific looping parameters. The following is the format you will use to accomplish this task:
http://www.youtube.com/v/(VideoID)&loop=1
This will redirect you to a much longer URI, but don’t worry about it, it will still achieve the same results. To see a full list of Youtube parameters available, just visit their embedded player parameters page.
To find the ID of a Youtube video however, visit the video page as you would normally would, like this one for example:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YUVwcnhoUJQ
Every character after the equals sign is included in the video ID (meaning this video’s ID is YUVwcnhoUJQ). So in order to repeat this video automatically (and to see an example of a repeating video in action), the full URI will be:
http://www.youtube.com/v/YUVwcnhoUJQ&loop=1
This is a great way to listen to your favorite songs over and over again without much effort, (while purchasing the song or album at a later date, of course).
UPDATE 5/18/2009 = The old video seems to have died, so I put up another one, a really great new song.

PLEASE HELP ABOUT YOUTUBE ON A SIMILIAR QUESTION TO YOUR AUTOMATIC REPLAY INFO.
THIS IS EVEN MORE PRACTICAL AND I KNOW IT CAN BE DONE BECAUSE IT SOMETIMES HAS HAPPENED SPONTANEOUSLY BUT I COULDN’T FIGURE OUT HOW – IT’S SIMPLY THIS: YOU KNOW HOW YOUTUBE VIDEOS ARE BROKEN DOWN INTO 10 MIN SECTIONS AND POSTED AS PART 1 THROUGH PART WHATEVER? HOW CAN I HAVE THEM PLAY IN SUCCESSION WHEN I WANT TO LIE IN BED AND LISTEN TO COAST TO COAST (FOR INSTANCE) AND NOT HAVE TO GET UP EVERY 10 MINUTES TO CLICK ON THE NEXT PART? I WILL WORSHIP AND LOVE YOU FOR LIFE IF YOU CAN TELL ME THIS. PLEASE EMAIL DIRECTLY. CJO2112@AOL.COM THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH
Create a Playlist…
(And next time DON’T USE ALL CAPS!)
I cant get this to work i am trying to listen to soulja boys song kiss me thru the phone and it doesnt work i wrote in the address bar
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QhwQay4QiOw&loop=1
if i am doing something wrong can u please tell me in an email or comment back. I like to listen to music while i lay in bed and i dont like having to get up to keep resarting the song.
Please help me?!?!?!?
That’s not the correct link structure, convert it the way I showed you:
http://www.youtube.com/v/QhwQay4QiOw&loop=1
As for the playlist, they give you instructions to do so here:
http://help.youtube.com/support/youtube/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=57792
i also forgot to ask how do u make a playlist… i meant to ask this in my comment right before this one
This totally works! It may be a bit confusing….so this is how I did it.
HERE IS A NORMAL LINK: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YUVwcnhoUJQ
OKAY, so, what you do is…..delete the “watch?” out of the url
Then…..put another backslash after the “v” and delete the “=”
So it looks like this: http://www.youtube.com/v/YUVwcnhoUJQ
LASTLY…..put “&loop=1″ at the end of the URL
So this is what you turn up with: http://www.youtube.com/v/YUVwcnhoUJQ&loop=1
It makes a lot more sense seeing it this way. I hope this helped you guys figure it out. This is the best idea ever!!!
Does this work for you? It won’t work on my browser.
http://www.youtube.com/v/DU_hcg7K_dk&loop=1
Works for me…
Find a better Web Browser.
hey,Andrew, you said it doesn’t work on your browser. I think it depends on which your using. Try using Firefox?
Thank your very much James & Brittany.
The outline of your steps were “extremely” helpful and it did work for me without problem.
Thanks buddy. This really helped me out. Thanks again.
Thanks . it works ! (Aug 19 2009)
i tried to do it but its not working for me
here is the url
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M-cIjPOJdFM
the video is zombieland
nd i tried to do it how u did it but it doesnt work
co can u do it
can u reply plz asap
You must not have typed it in correctly, it’s working for me:
http://www.youtube.com/v/M-cIjPOJdFM&loop=1
Hey James,
Thank you for the VERY useful information, it worked like a charm for me (after first also just copy pasting the “&loop=1″ and realising I had missed the “/v/” part *wink*).
However, even though it worked brilliantly, the resulting video is shown as browser filling (not full screen though), is it also possible to have the video play in “normal” size?
I like to play music video’s as background music while studying but my girlfriend would rather not see the pixelated video (see e.g. http://www.youtube.com/v/WRp5qOun63s&loop=1)
Once again thank you for the useful information, hopefully you can help me.
Kind regards,
Albert
Ow by the way, congratz on getting the number 2 hit on Google (http://www.google.nl/#q=repeat+song+youtube)
I don’t know how to physically change the size of the player, the parameters are for the embedded flash player.
You’d probably have to use a service like Youtube Repeat to play a video normally.
You’re a genius! Thanks for sharing
This is Great =)
THanks heaps
Thanks a ton for sharing
This does not work with the playlist because every time a song changes on the playlist the id changes and adds one more word to the end of the url
this only works if you want to hear the same song over and over and God knows I have had those days, but today I want to hear the whole playlist over and over again.
I thought about waiting till the last song on the playlist loaded and add the loop to that but not sure if that will work.
But I tried everything with the playlist and it does not work, it just repeats the same tune over and over again which is the first tune.
But thanks anyways this is pretty useful info, now I can play around with the codes to try get the playlist (complete) to play.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=740OHh4OkMA&feature=PlayList&p=FC3961A756E340D7&index=2&playnext=3&playnext_from=PL
so this was the third song and it added 3&playnext_from=PL
before it had 2&playnext_from=PL when that song was done this one was added.
THANKS TO YOU I FIGURED OUT HOW TO DO THE PLAYLIST HOOOOOOOOOORRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!
THANK YOU
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=740OHh4OkMA&feature=PlayList&p=FC3961A756E340D7&index=2&playnext=3&playnext=4&playnext=5&playnext=6&playnext=7&playnext_from=PL&loop=1
YOU UNDERSTAND TAKE THE LAST VIDEO AND ADD THE LOOP TO IT!!!!!!!
Thank you very much : )

thanx a ton
Here’s what I do,
Find the YouTube video you want to repeat.
In the address bar, add the word “infinite” before the word YouTube. When you are finished your address bar should be changed from:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dMH0bHeiRNg
To
http://www.infiniteyoutube.com/watch?v=dMH0bHeiRNg
Drag the sliders to only repeat a certain part of the video.
You can also go to http://www.infiniteyoutube.com and just paste in a link to the video or even search for videos.
Hi I been trying to make a list shuffle when playing outside youtube. I’ve tried &shuffle and &playnext_from=PL&shuffle but it’s not working do you think that parameter was blocked for videos playing outside their website or am I doing something wrong? Thanks for your help.
This does work! I tried it!
Not Repeating: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gdmq0L6NDIs
Repeating: http://www.youtube.com/v/Gdmq0L6NDIs&loop=1
Try Brittany’s Way!
It aint working for me
http://www.youtube.com/v/bafjMLvDQ4A&loop=1 (A dialogue box pops up asking to me to download the file when i press ‘Enter’)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bafjMLvDQ4A&loop=1 (Doesn’t even repeat)
Thanks dude … Great Help
thanks a lot
Thank you for posting this. Everyone should know how to do this – it makes youtube so much better.
everyone is addicted to youtube, and everyonle like to upload videos on youtube:~:
Another method I’ve come across for the looping of YouTube videos is to simply add “repeat” after “youtube” in the URL. It’ll redirect you to YouTube Repeat which does what the name says: repeat YouTube videos. (No I’m not a troll advertising a website, I just find it easier and thought a couple others might too.) Hopefully this is helpful!
Take this URL for example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T98zYbnYf08
To repeat it, simply use: http://www.youtuberepeat.com/watch?v=T98zYbnYf08 (It’s a beautiful song btw.)
Voilà.
theres and easier way… after youtube, you just type repeat there example with avril lavigne’s music video complicated
original:http://www.youtube.com/watch/?v=5NPBIwQyPWE&feature=relmfu
to repeat:http://www.youtuberepeat.com/watch/?v=5NPBIwQyPWE&feature=relmfu
The above URL that I just posted ( I hope it shows) doesn’t work when I put in the &loop=1. I’m using firefox also. Maybe it’s just me but if anyone can possibly make it work, that’s be awesome. It’s Adele- someone like you lyrics
Actually, thanks to the person above my comment, I just got it to work. Thank you!!
hello bharti
Thanks Brittany you legend!!… you can put your shoes under my bed anytime
yeah, yahoo answer sucks! thanks
Great tip, worked like a charm!
Nice it is working FINE
)) Thanks
Thanks~this works=)
tell me, is there any way to repeat just a part of a youtube video?
Thanks a lot, this really works!
Awesome thanks for your help! I used infinite before youtube…works good!
It is work 90%
My deep gratitude. It was always such a break in beauty when I had to press replay. Here is what you allowed me to have in my time. http://www.youtube.com/v/F6pqdSVj_cw&loop=1 It is Isfahan, by E.S Posthumus.
just go to http://yourepeat.com – anything played there repeats automatically.
or replace “tube” with “repeat” in youtube video links like this:
youtube.com/watch?=videoid
=>
yourepeat.com/watch?=videoid
i keep trying this url http://www.youtube.com/v/OMr9zCvtOfY&loop=1 but it comes up with download optains what do i do
For me, the easier way is to replace youtube by some thing else and can enjoy music repeat. I’ve try youtuberepeat, it works ok. Just one thing that it doesn’t support searching.
I found an excellent site: tubeencore.com. Replace “youtube” by “tubeencore” in a YouTube video URL:
Original: http://youtube.com/watch/?v=EkHTsc9PU2A
Turn it to: http://tubeencore.com/watch/?v=EkHTsc9PU2A
Enjoy!
ok i used the link James put up for Safety Torch by Tobuscus and it worked i would recomened it to anyone.
Tobuscus’s Safety Torch: http://www.youtube.com/v/upxzaVMhw8k&feature=channel_video_title&loop=1
Thanks agian
just before youtube put endless so if ur link looks like http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fTQ6y1VAon4
it’s gonna be http://www.endlessyoutube.com/watch?v=fTQ6y1VAon4
this will automatically direct u to youtubes sister website in which u can repeat songs over and over again…
It works, mate. Thanks a lot. This is handy.
